Acceptable use policy

Acceptable use policy — RentersActReady

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") supplements our Terms of Service and defines what you may and may not do with the RentersActReady service. By using the service you agree to this AUP.

You MUST NOT use RentersActReady to:

  1. Upload data that isn't yours — only upload data about properties, tenancies, documents, and individuals where you are the controller under UK GDPR (typically: your own landlord portfolio, or properties under an agency agreement that explicitly grants you data-controller rights to compliance records).
  2. Impersonate another person or entity — including misrepresenting your ICP category, pretending to be a letting agent when you are not, or creating accounts on behalf of others without their instruction.
  3. Attempt to access data or functionality you are not authorised for — including probing other users' rows, attempting to bypass row-level security, attempting to enumerate accounts, or exploiting vulnerabilities you discover rather than reporting them.
  4. Interfere with the service's operation — denial-of-service attempts, scraping at rates that degrade performance for others, circumventing rate limits, or tampering with cookies / session tokens.
  5. Reverse-engineer, decompile, or copy the rule engine, scoring algorithms, or any other proprietary component of the service beyond the limits UK law permits for interoperability.
  6. Use the service to send unsolicited email — the regulatory-update fan-out and deadline digest are service/transactional emails delivered to your authenticated account, not a means to relay mail to third parties.
  7. Upload unlawful, infringing, or malicious content — including content that infringes copyright, contains malware, violates a court order, or is defamatory or harassing.
  8. Use the service for regulated activities that require authorisation we do not hold — RentersActReady is a compliance-support tool and does not provide legal advice, debt collection, regulated mortgage advice, or money-laundering-regulated services. Do not use the product as if it did.

Security-research exception

If you are performing authorised security research, you may probe the service within the following limits: only against your own account, never at a rate that degrades service for others, and report findings responsibly to security@rentersactready.co.uk before public disclosure. Enforcement

We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches this AUP. Where breach involves unlawful content or a risk to other users, we may do so without prior notice and retain supporting logs for investigation. Repeated or severe breaches result in permanent termination and may be reported to the appropriate regulator or law-enforcement authority.
