Pricing FAQ

Is there a free trial?
Yes — every new Free account gets a 14-day fully-featured trial. Unlimited properties, documents, custom deadlines, plus bulk AST view, branded PDF export, and Written Statement audit. No card required at signup. On day 15 the account reverts to the Free tier (up to 3 properties, 5 documents, 3 custom deadlines). Deadline-reminder emails and regulatory-update alerts stay Core-only throughout — you see deadlines in-app during the trial but upgrade to get them emailed.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. Cancellation is one click in the Stripe customer portal. You keep Core access until the end of the billing period you've already paid for, then drop back to Free without losing any data.
How does annual billing work?
Annual billing pays £144 once for 12 months — that's the equivalent of £12/mo, a 20% saving. You can switch from monthly to annual (or vice versa) at the next renewal via the customer portal.
Is VAT included?
Prices are the full amount payable. There is no VAT to add on top.
What payment methods do you accept?
Stripe Checkout handles cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. We never see card details — Stripe processes payments and emails you receipts.
What templates do I get with Core?
Core doesn't bundle a downloadable template library. Core's value is the portfolio-wide tooling — unlimited properties, Bulk AST view, branded Readiness PDF export, weekly deadline-reminder email digest, regulatory-update emails, and founder-direct support. Separately, the Form 4A preparation worksheet is available free at /free-form-4a-template (no sign-up), and the statutory government Information Sheet — prescribed by SI 2026/324 and free from gov.uk — is linked directly from your dashboard.
Do I need a card to sign up?
No. Create a free account, run the readiness assessment, and only enter card details if you decide to upgrade to Core.
What does RentersActReady cover — and what does it not cover?
RAR scores readiness against the Renters' Rights Act 2025 and accompanying statutory instruments — Phase 1 (1 May 2026), Phase 2, and Phase 3 deadlines, Form 4A rent-increase mechanics, Written Statement requirements, Section 8 ground changes, deposit and bidding rules. RAR does not encode local selective-licensing schemes or HMO licence conditions, which vary by council — verify those with your local authority. Outputs and action lists are general guidance based on the published Acts and SIs; verify against legislation.gov.uk and Propertymark (or your governing body) for your specific portfolio. Not legal or professional advice.
What happens to my data if I downgrade or cancel my subscription?
Downgrading to Free keeps your account and all data. Cancelling your Core subscription drops you back to the Free plan at the end of the period — your account, properties, documents, and deadlines all stay where they are. If you then exceed Free limits (3 properties, 5 documents, 3 custom deadlines) the existing entries stay readable but you can't add new ones until you delete some or re-upgrade.
What if I delete my account entirely?
Account deletion is separate from subscription cancellation. Use Settings → Danger zone → Delete my account. Your data is soft-deleted for 90 days — to restore within that window, email support@rentersactready.co.uk and we will restore your account within 1 working day. After 90 days the data is permanently hard-deleted by a nightly admin sweep. If you have an active Core subscription, it is set to cancel at the end of the current period (you keep Core access until then; no further charges). See our retention and deletion policy for the full timeline.
